More Money... More Problems!? (And A Hidden Travel Spot)

Gooood morning Travelers, 🥱

First things first, happy Tuesday! We’re almost halfway through the (working) week and en route to another mostly cloudy weekend (here in Baltimore, at least). 😑👍🏼

We received quite the reception to last week's deep dive into the relationship between age and time, and we’re pleased to announce that we’re not the only ones who feel like time seems to progress faster as we get older. 😅

We do quite enjoy the weekly philosophical breakdowns, so we’ve got another one for you:

“Does money buy happiness?” 🤔

This is an interesting one, and from what we’ve observed, the varying opinions on this are pretty divisive.

Our thoughts? 🤓

It is very situational; there are so many different variables to consider; although having a large number in your bank account won’t directly cause your brain to release certain chemicals like serotonin or dopamine, it can definitely act as a medium for engaging in activities that do. ✈️

Let us explain: what is our (Simify) core, foundational attribute for happiness? 🧐

Freedom. 🤗

The ability to make decisions for yourself that aren’t dictated or influenced by an external factor. ☁️

Being able to wear that lime green Llama T-shirt without feeling judged or booking that overseas trip without worrying about the budget. 🦙

In our opinion, having an abundance of money can free an individual from one of life’s heaviest and tightest shackles: bills. 🧾

No more debt or worrying about being able to afford the basic everyday necessities, which MAY relieve someone from severe mental stress resulting in an increased level of happiness and time freedom. 😁

However, it’s a double-edged sword. As the late great New York rapper “The Notorious B.I.G” once said:

“Mo’ money, mo’ problems.” 💰

If it were common knowledge that you possessed a myriad of cash, would your relationship with friends, family even strangers be ill-intended? It’d be impossible to gauge, thus resulting in a crippling sense of self-consciousness. 🥴

So that takes us back to where we started. Does money buy happiness? 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♀️

There is no right or wrong answer; it seems; it simply comes down to the individual and their beliefs. 🙏🏻

What do you think?

Anyways, sorry for going off on a tangent. 😅

We actually do have something travel related to share with you, which somewhat ties into the waffling above; it’s our destination of the week which is actually relatively affordable. 😍

Bali.

More specifically, Dimond Beach on Nusa Penida. 🌊

Located on the eastern tip of Nusa Penida, Diamond Beach is an absolute must-see when in that neck of the woods. Famous for its white sand and clear, turquoise water, this picturesque location is located a light one-hour drive from both Toya Pakeh and Buyuk Harbour. 🏝

Scooters are generally the best way to get around Nusa Penida and can be rented for as little as $3 - $5 per day. 🛵

Something to note, however, the beach is only accessible at low tide and is best visited in the morning to avoid the large crowds. (Most of the beach is hidden in shadow until about 7:30-8:00 am for the photographers out there!) 📸

And unfortunately, Diamond Beach isn’t the best place for swimming as it's also known for its crazy waves and sharp rocks/coral reefs. So if you’re looking to cool down, we only recommend a quick, knee-height dip. 🏊🏼‍♂️

This place is so lovely on the eyes, kind of like Channing Tatum in Magic Mike for all our ab lovers out there! 💪🏻🤣😍

If you’re heading to that part of the earth anytime soon, we recommend checking out our Bali travel SIMs here. You’ll make your loved ones squirm with envy with the ability to share your Diamond Beach pics to your socials. 🤓

Anyways, that’s all for this week's blog post. We look forward to catching up with you next week Travelers!

Adios, amigo, and enjoy the rest of your day! 🤩
